Song 27 and a Huge Phone....

Okay, It's time for song number 27. I can't believe I have already done 26 of these things, some with an extra song or two. What can I say? I love music!

"A song you love by a band you hate."

So, there are bands that I definitely hate, to a point where I would rather have a root canal than hear their music. Train, I'm looking at you!  I am not a Maroon 5 fan at all. I only like this one song. I have respect for Adam Lavine. He struggles with ADHD, which I don't have, but have lots of friends and family that are. I think it's cool that he can overcome that and be successful. I think he is talented as far as he can sing, but I really dislike his music. I think most of it is overly sexual, and this song is no exception. However, I can't deny that I love the Reggae beat style of this song. It's about fooling around with someone, feeling guilty, and then doing it again.....and again.....and again. Don't judge me.

The other day I was trying to get some of my things out of storage from our shed. I think I mentioned that I love to collect and play board and card games. I love playing games with my son Elliot, and my nephew and nieces. We had a closet in our family room full of old VHS video cassettes, and we don't even have a VCR to play them anymore. I cleaned out the closet to put that stuff in storage or send to a thrift store, and was able to put some games in the closet.

When I was almost finished serving a mission for the LDS church, I bought a page a day calendar called "You Said It". Everyday there was a strange retro black and white picture with speech and/or thought bubbles that are empty, and you would make up your own captions and jokes to them. I loved it so much that I only wrote on a few of them. I had an idea that when I got home, I would scan them into my computer without the captions, and then use a picture editing program to add the text to them.

I did that with a few. When I was substitute teaching high school after my mission, I would print out one of the pictures, take it into the office and make a bunch of copies. I would take candy bars and when students finished their assignments, and I checked them to make sure they were right, I would give them the picture and then near the end of class, I would choose three captions the students came up with, and then let the class vote on which one they liked the best. Whoever won got a candy bar. It was a great and fun way to get the kids to do their work, which pleased the teachers, and the kids at the same time.

After I got married in 2007, my parents boxed up some of my old stuff and put them in storage. I remembered that calendar, and I couldn't find it. I have been looking through tons of stuff to find it for over ten years, and never did. However, the other day, I was getting some of my games, and a box dropped on the ground, I picked it up, and right on top of everything was the calendar.  I am so happy that I found it. I thought I would share one that I scanned and made a caption for. In the future I thought it would be fun to have contests for you, the readers, and have some little prizes or something fun for the winners.

So, here is the picture and caption I came up with......

There you have it. I will post some of these pictures every once in a while, and like I say, I thought about doing contests. I think they are fun.

Well, that's it from me. It's almost 3:30 in the AM, and I need to see if my insomniac brain will let me sleep for a few hours. I hope you all are having a wonderful and productive day. I will be back later with another action-packed post.

Take care!!!
