Soooo, It's Been A While.....

I'm so sorry that it's been a while since I have posted anything here. I have spent a lot of my time getting my podcast up and ready. I have a few that I still have to record and release. I don't want to release too many podcasts all at once, so I am holding off every couple of days. I am also playing with a new format so that the podcast is more sincere than just reading a review I have already typed up. I think it will be great.

Also, like I said in my last blog post, I am joined up with the Curling league at the Utah Olympic Oval on Thursday nights. It's so great, and my super good friend, Dan, is on my team. The name of our team is.......get ready for it.......The Stone Troopers.

I don't really have more news than that. I've just been watching a lot of new films, or catching up with some, and have also been watching some really great TV. I will recommend two shows for you in this post because I have loved them.

Starting with American Housewife on ABC, all four seasons are available on Hulu. Season 5 is getting ready to start filming when people start getting back to work on filming. The show follows a very sarcastic mother, Katie, her husband, Greg who is a history professor. Their teenage daughter, Taylor, who is the epitome of dumb blonde, and her boyfriend, Trip, who is her equal match. Their young teenage son, Oliver, who is obsessed with wanting to become rich, and he has schemes that he is usually trying to pull off. And their young nine year old daughter, Anna-Kat, who is highly OCD, but very, very smart.  They live in a town full of super rich snobs, and the bulk of the show deals with Katie trying to raise her family to be good people in a very shallow town. It's great!

Then the second show is brand new on Disney+.  It's called Earth to Ned. It is made by the Jim Henson Studios department of Disney, and even though there is a new Muppets show called Muppets Now, that is on Disney+, it's not that great, but Earth to Ned has all of the humor and charm that the Muppets should have.

Earth to Ned is a "Late Night Talk Show" style show, but it's only twenty-two to twenty-four minutes long, and the host, Ned, is a very tall alien who was sent to Earth to destroy it, but fell in love with human pop-culture, and so they buried the spaceship really far underground, and use the space ship to "beam" guests onto the ship for interviews. Ned is joined by his sidekick, Cornelius, and little creatures called CLODs, CLOD stands for Cloned Living Organisms of Destruction, which are hysterical. The ship also has an artificial intelligence named B.E.T.I. who appears as a basic drama mask, who is in charge of beaming the guests on board and also siding with Cornelius when Ned and Cornelius have an argument. Cornelius also gets beamed up to the Earth surface to explore and learn about Earth's culture, and he is really funny too. Ned is kind of in his own little world where he thinks he knows everything and is the best, but is always shown up by the other members of the crew and the guests.

It takes four people to puppeteer Ned, while Cornelius is a hand puppet, and the CLODs are stick puppets. It's remarkable what the puppeteers do with Ned. It's really cool. There are only ten episodes so far, but the show has been praised by film and television critics, and is everything that Muppets Now wants to be. It took me by surprise with how fast I fell in love with the show. So, head on over to Disney+ and check it out.

The episodes have themes to them. For example, there is a Star Wars episode where BB-8 and Billie D. Williams are guests, along with a lightsaber duel by the CLODS dressed up as Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi. My only issue with it is that a couple of themed episodes seem to be pandering for Disney shows and properties, even the Star Wars one falls into that category, but that is a super small gripe. Most of the guest stars are really fun and get into the flavor of the show. There are a couple who kind of don't get it, but most of them do, and it's a lot of fun.

Anywho, that's all I have for right now. I hope you are all staying safe and wearing your masks in public. I hope you are being nice to everyone and that your life during this crazy year is staying healthy and happy.  Thanks for checking out my blog. I keep promising pictures from my trip to Moab, Utah with Elliot and my parents. It was  great, and there are some fun pictures that I need to edit and post. Thanks again, and I will see you later for now.
