Song 8 of 30!

     First, I have to apologize. I came down sick the past couple of days, so I was sleeping, but I'm all better, and thankful that I don't have Covid-19! 

So, the song of the day is...…...

A Song That Makes You Happy:  Super Rad by The Aquabats. 

     When I was in high school, there was a channel on public access television called "The Box", and you would call them, pay them a dollar and they would play a requested music video. I first noticed their little logo on a friend of mine in high school that was on the back of a hoodie sweatshirt. And then, it happened, I saw their logo, heard the song, and I absolutely loved it. I'm still really big into the Aquabats, and my son, Elliot, share that love for the band.

     If you are unfamiliar with The Aquabats, they are a ska/rock band who came around during the Ska music burst.. Lot's of people didn't care for Ska at all, but there has been some great stuff. Ska was actually from musicians in Jamaica in the 1950s.  It's gone through a lot of phases, but it always makes me happy to hear ska music because it's so catchy. Reggae actually came out a few months later, and there are a lot of similarities. Not everyone is into it, but I personally love the stuff.

     What makes the Aquabats special is they dress up like superheroes and fight villains during their concerts. They also now have a tv show where they use their fun music to fight bad guys. And as a side note, their lead singer/songwriter created Yo Gabba Gabba, so sometimes you might spot a prop or costumes from Yo Gabba Gabba.
