A Big Update...Again...Sorry!

Wow! I can't believe how long it has been since I have posted a blog. Things have been so busy and crazy that I have fallen behind on my writing. I have been working on a short story that I am proud of, but I haven't been working much on that either. I had a skeleton version of the story I shared with a couple of people, but I have been trying to flesh it out a bit more to make it more enjoyable to read. I will share the title with all of you here though, just for fun. It's called, "Icebergs". I won't say any more than that, but I am hoping it will be published and ready to go by the end of October.

Since the last time I really posted anything, I have gotten married to the girl I loved from afar, and right next to her in my Show Choir class, Lindsey. She has three great kids that I love to death. Quinton is 16, Michael is 14, and Garrison just turned 12 yesterday, (May 27th). I have two church callings, teaching once a month in the Elders Quorum and as the first counselor in the Sunday School Presidency. We are living in Magna, but in a newer part where the homes aren't as old as some of the other homes farther west from us.

It's been interesting going from a single man a year ago to married with three step-kids, and Elliot is still living in Kansas, although he will be here with me for half of the summer starting on June 14th. We plan to do a lot of Geocaching. If you don't know what that is, it's basically like a scavenger hunt where you look for little containers people hide, then post the coordinates on the Geocaching app, and when you find it, there is a little piece of paper you sign your Geocaching user name, ours is Unck42, and we have already hid two of our own for others to find, but I have been working on a fun challenge where people will have to find eight different caches of ours to get secret coordinates to find a pirate coin as a little trophy for completing the challenge. More on that to come.

I've been busy with movie screenings for my critic job and have seen some fun ones lately. Summer months are really busy for blockbuster movie releases, so I stay busy with movie screenings during the summer months. The other busy time is between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when everyone is out of school and work on the holiday breaks, when most people go to the movies.

Lindsey and I have also been trying to go to the temple more, and try to plan little dates where we go to the temple, and then go out to eat somewhere, although now that Elliot is coming for the summer, and we have more plans and activities, the eating out is going to have to be something we don't do often....at least that's the idea. We love going out to eat!

My mom had to have open heart surgery a couple of weeks ago, and she has been slowly recovering, but she started complaining about pains in her chest. It turned out she had a lot of fluid in her left lung and had to go in for another doctor's appointment to get rid of it. It's nothing serious, but she's okay. Nothing to worry about.

I do have other blog post topics I want to write about, but I figured that I would just give everyone a little update into what I am up to, and then try and write the other blogs soon. I always love to suggest things that I love to do, or watch, or play, and there are some topics I've had on my mind over the past few months, but have been distracted from. Now that things are settling down a little bit as far as getting married and moving in and starting the next chapter in my life, I will hopefully be able to write more often like I used to.

I hope all of you reading my blog, and also those who don't, are in good health and happy. I feel so blessed to have a lot of friends and well-wishers. Even when I was bullied really bad through elementary school and most of middle school, I have always had great friends to balance everything out. I will try to post something else soon, as soon as next week probably, (We are going to a family reunion in St. George all week-long next week, and I am going to try and write more in my downtime from some of the cool things we have planned to do. Take care, and I will write again soon!
