So, a lot of you know that know me know that I am really big fan of punk rock music. I was introduced to it by my awesome cousin, Greg, and I have never looked back. There are many different types of Punk Rock out there. There are the kinds where the band can only play songs that only use three basic chords, usually called West Coast Punk Rock, (This is my personal favorite type of punk rock). There are bands from England like The Ramones (Maybe one day I will tell you what their name means), and the Sex Pistols, or The Clash. Then there is East Coast Punk Rock that is loud, the music somehow makes sense, but not really put together well. Most styles have the same backbone but branch out a little from each other.
So tonight, I was to introduce you to a style of Punk Rock, which is Japanese Punk Rock. It's loud, its frantic, and you will probably not like it much. I can see some of you listening to the video I will post below watching it once, and then saying Sayonara (See what I did there?), Some of you will turn it off right away, and maybe some of you out there might actually like it for what I am about to tell you.
When I get really upset about something, and need to blow off some steam, I make sure everyone at home is awake, or I get my headphones, head out into the car in the garage, and I scream along with the lyrics. I am probably swearing in Japanese, I don't know, I could, but I don't know it. Singing along with it helps me calm down and feel like my anger has been diffused. My favorite Japanese Punk band is called Guitar Wolf. Here is a song by them called "Jet Generation" which is also the title of the album it comes from. It's on iTunes and Amazon Music if you are curious......
