I Helped With A Drug Bust (True Story)

Earlier this evening I attended an improv comedy workshop so that I can start doing improv comedy again, which I will this coming Friday evening with Quick Wits. We had a fun workshop and learned some great stuff. However, the craziest part of the evening was yet to come.

I didn't have a very big dinner, so I stopped off at a Smiths grocery store to get a snack. When I entered the store, I saw a black man, I am not talking degradingly, but he was a black man, and he was talking with a short white man that was super skinny, and shakey. The grocery stocker told him, "Go down aisle 19, where the chips and snacks are, look behind a couple of bags of Nacho Cheese Doritos, and you'll find the product you are looking for."

Now, I was wanting to get some chips, so I decided I would follow behind a little bit, you know, because I do stupid things from time to time. So I follow the scrawny white guy whose scratching his skin all over, and I see him move back two bags of Doritos, and pulls out a bag of cocaine. Now, this guy didn't even look around to see if anyone was around, and didn't even look up for cameras.

Then I went back to get a gallon of milk, and there is this nasty woman, who smelled like cigarettes and pot, with two little kids. One was three years old, and the other was five, both boys. She was yelling and swearing to the kids, asking if they wanted pancakes or waffles for breakfast, I won't share what the words were, but she was terrible, and those poor kids, it was awful. It turns out, she was with the scrawny white guy who just got a bag of cocaine, and he catches up with her, and tells her that he got the stuff, and to go check out so they can get the hell out of there, his words, not mine.

So now that I knew the whole plan, I walked really fast towards the lady at the self-checkout stand, told her what happened, and she gets on her walkie talkie, and calls the security officers down and they bust the guy and his, whatever she was, and their poor kids. I had to stay and fill out a report for what I saw, as well as look at the security cameras, which sucked because I hate writing by hand, but I got through it. I was kind of worried about the perpetrators seeing my face, but I was there when the cops arrived and took them away, and then I was let go to drive home.

This is the second time I have helped in a drug bust, which is two more than most people that aren't cops do, but what can I say, public transportation or grocery stores must be hotbeds for crime after 9:00 P.M.

I promise I didn't make this story up. I have a side blog where I do creative writing prompts that I haven't released and made available, and am still not sure I will make it available, since I need to practice writing, and some of the things are weird, but it's there. I would have written this post on there if I was joking.

I thought this story would make a great, and short blog post. If people would like to know the other drug bust story, I will be willing to tell it, but only if it is requested. I hope you are all doing great. I feel kind of strange. Things here in America are going on as normal, besides some gasoline prices rising higher than they have ever been with the war between Russia and Ukraine. I was telling my teammate while I was curling last Thursday night, that I had been going to movies for work, and curling, and getting ready to do some improv comedy, and then thought about what the poor people fleeing their homes, and in some cases, their families to stay alive.

I don't want to sound like I am ignoring what is going on. I do sort of guilty for living life as normal, well, as normal as I can, but I am watching a lot of CNN and MSNBC with my dad to keep up on what is happening on the other side of the world. When I pray at night, or even over meal prayers, I pray for Ukraine and its innocent people that are fleeing into uncertainty, and the ones staying to fight for their country and their independence. We should all be grateful for the independence and freedoms we have in the country we live, while also being mindful of those unfortunate people.

If you have a few bucks for a bag of chips, use it to buy first aid kits for refugees instead.  If you have more to donate, that's great. I just feel that we need to be mindful, and open to whatever happens in this crazy time of unprovoked war and flat out murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children who are peaceful, and just want to live independently, and free to live how they choose.

Anyway, I hope you are all safe and still doing what you need to do for the Covid situation here in the United States. Whether you are vaccinated and boostered, or choose not to be, please remember to wear masks and take precautionary steps to not get sick. I have the vaccines and the booster shots, but I still caught a mild case back in January, even with the vaccine and booster, so people can still get sick, however, with the vaccines and the boosters, they will reduce the symptoms, so you only get kind of sick. I just thought I had a mild head cold.

Alright, I am ready to end this post, and then let you all know about it. I will be back soon with another blog post, and I hope it's not about another drug bust. Have a good few days until I write again.
